Panda Power’s plant creating 800 construction jobs
LEESBURG, Va. — Panda Power Funds held a groundbreaking ceremony for the natural gas power plant it began constructing in March near Leesburg. The Stonewall project is a 778-megawatt facility in Loudoun County scheduled to begin operation in mid-2017.
Stonewall will be among the cleanest power plants in the U.S. and supply power to one of the country’s fastest-growing counties. The power plant is expected to generate approximately $20 million a year in direct and indirect spending, producing positive economic impacts in the city and county. Panda Power will create about 800 construction jobs and 30 long-term jobs once the plant opens.
